Singleton Desk
I have had the absolute luxury of working with other artists on a few great projects lately.
This studio renovation project with Cindy and Kyle Singleton has been a blast!
I created two custom furniture pieces for this effort. The coffee bar is an upcycled dresser that was in the studio already. It gets to live on as a spot for caffeine consumption and art supply storage. That's a pretty rad life!
The second piece was a wonderful collaboration between Cindy and I. It's built of poplar and about as customized as a desk can get . We were making subtle changes all the way up until installation day.
And then, to top it aaaaalllllll off, they added a piece from my last show to their beautiful space. "Post-Postmodern-Pre-Posthumous-Post-Prehistory Trace of Selfhood in Non-Negative Space" feels like it was made just to fit in this environment.
Cindy and Kyle, I can't enough for giving me a chance to build something for you. It's my honor to be part of your scared space.
Artists supporting artists is a special kind of magic.
This was such a wonderful project to design and build.
There's great pleasure to be had when you work with people who love Art and collect with intention.
This modular display for their glass collection is made from painted and stained poplar. The stain is a mix of my own meant to emulate the Dutch modernists. The colors were fine tuned and provided by the brilliant minds over at Rise Up.
The glass collection features brilliant artists like Chad Holliday.
A lovely collaboration, indeed.
